THEME: STORY OF JESUS IN THE CULTURES OF ASIA OVERVIEW:
Continuing the FABC paradigm of the “triple dialogue” with the peoples, religions, and cultures of Asia, this day focuses on the rich and diverse cultures of Asia. As in previous days, there will be a panoramic presentation highlighting the cultures of Asia. The morning will be full, comprised of five thematic “faith sharings.” Topic areas covered will highlight consumerism, media, migrants, youth, and interfaith relationships.
Similar to the previous day, the afternoon provides ample time for workshop sharing and interaction. All will reflect on this question: “What practices or traditions in my culture best express the Gospel of Jesus?” When the delegates assemble at the plenary hall, they will hear some brief feedback from the workshops. This will be followed by a reflective theological synthesis, presented by a missionary with long-term experience in Asia.
The evening is given to the Grand Socialization. It is foreseen that the richness of Asia’s cultures, expressed in song, dance, story, and music, will both entertain and enrich Congress participants.
